Connect TikTok to Stripe
See which TikTok posts produced a new subscription or a new customer in Stripe. Setup takes one connection on each side, and no TikTok ads are required.
What you get
TikTok's own figures beside Stripe's recurring revenue and new customers on one timeline, so a week of reach and a week of revenue are visibly not the same week.
Setting it up
- Paste your TikTok account. Epoyo reads what is public and works out what you sell, who buys it and what counts as a conversion. No account is needed for this step.
- Connect TikTok. Authorise read access to a TikTok account. Epoyo reads followers, views and interactions at the account level, and views, likes, comments, shares and saves on the individual posts it reads, and cannot publish, edit or delete anything.
- Connect Stripe. Install the Epoyo app from the Stripe marketplace. It declares customer_read and subscription_read, so you see exactly two read permissions before approving and Epoyo can never move money or change a subscription.
- Give each destination its own code. A single bio link tells you TikTok sent traffic. A coded destination per post is what lets Stripe report a new subscription or a new customer back against the video that caused it.
The part that catches people out
The gap between the click and the subscription. Someone taps your bio link on Tuesday and becomes a paying customer the following Monday. If the code is only read on arrival and never carried forward, that customer is credited to nothing at all, and the video that produced them looks like a dud.
Worth knowing about TikTok
TikTok allows one link in the bio, and opens it in an in-app browser that usually strips the referrer. Both facts push you towards coded destinations rather than referrer-based reporting.
Worth knowing about Stripe
Two things to plan around. Stripe history accrues forward from the day you connect rather than being backfilled, so connect before the campaign you want to measure. And revenue is recorded when money moves, often days after the click that caused it, so the code has to be held from the arriving session until the payment arrives.
Common questions
- Does Epoyo see my customers' card details?
- No. The Stripe app declares customer_read and subscription_read, so it reads subscription and customer records only. Card numbers never leave Stripe and are not part of what Epoyo requests.
- Will Epoyo backfill my Stripe history?
- No. Stripe figures accrue forward from the day you connect rather than being imported retrospectively, so connect before the campaign you want to measure rather than after it.
